Xcelsior Sport has been a pioneer in the field of movement since its inception. What began in 1931 as Excelsior Sport in The Hague has evolved into a company synonymous with innovation and quality. The founder, grandfather of the current managing director Annemarie, was originally a shoemaker who handcrafting football shoes for Holland Sport, now known as ADO Den Haag. His craftsmanship expanded as he began making footballs, while his wife managed the shop.

From these humble beginnings to sponsoring Dutch sprinters, Xcelsior has remained true to its roots: innovation, a passion for sport, and a family business always ahead of the curve. This same dedication and expertise are still felt in everything Xcelsior does. What began with handcrafted football shoes has now grown into a complete center for sports and foot care, where craftsmanship and science go hand in hand.

Shoe Store

Xcelsior offers a unique combination of a shoe store and a podiatry practice. This means that customers can rely not only on stylish and comfortable footwear but also on expert advice that focuses on the health of their feet. With in-depth knowledge of foot problems, our selection is carefully curated to be both fashionable and functional.

Our approach is centered around personalized care. We ensure that each customer finds shoes that meet their specific foot needs, helping to prevent or relieve discomfort. Thanks to our podiatry practice, it’s easy to immediately check if the chosen shoes provide the right support.

Xcelsior takes a multidisciplinary approach to foot health. Additionally, in our own workshop, led by master shoemaker Frits, we can quickly make adjustments to ensure optimal comfort.
